On Friday 23 October, the Espace socioculturel is hosting *Hautes Définitions*, a theatrical performance that is as erudite as it is offbeat, in which the French language becomes the raw material for a delightfully whimsical fantasy.

Inspired by Guillaume Malagnoux’s book *Abécédaire inutile en soi, mais distrayant pour les autres* (*A Pronouncement Useless in Itself, but Entertaining for Others*), *Hautes Définitions* takes the form of a lecture that is, to say the least, unusual. Here, there is no question of simply following the dictionary
