“Géographie du corps”
Michel Batlle was born in Toulouse on April 3, 1946. His father, a political refugee from the Spanish Civil War, was of Catalan origin. Born into a family where painting and music played a central role, he discovered creation as a natural language at an early age. At the age of seventeen, he exhibited for the first time and, from 1964, presented his first abstract paintings, initiating an experimental approach based on gesture, freedom and the exploration of the body as a sensitive territory.
