The Périgord Sinfonia

For over 30 years, the last days of August are filled with the enchanting Baroque music of the Sinfonia en Périgord Festival. For 6 days, Périgueux vibrates to the sounds of some of the most famous composers of the period: Bach, Vivaldi and Monteverdi. The festival also offers the chance to discover lesser-known English, Austrian and Spanish works. A selection of the concerts are held in some of the most spectacular sites in Périgord: the abbeys of Chancelade and Ligueux, as well as churches and museums in and around Périgueux. This renowned festival, now a permanent and eagerly awaited, annual musical event, welcomes both young and established musicians to share the bill.
