Châteaux en fête – Ouverture exceptionnelle Château de Caussade

"On the outskirts of Périgueux, deep in the heart of the forest, stands a small fort battered by a thousand years of history!
Bertran II de Born married Himberge de Caussade there in the time of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Richard the Lionheart.
Cursed for having pitted son against mother against the King of England, the overly proud troubadour illuminates Hell with his head, held aloft like a lantern: ‘O woe is me!’.

Guided by the knight-minstrel, dare to journey to Caussade in Hell... and gain entry to Paradise through the gates of Hell.

Caussade is welcoming visitors for the first time in guided groups of 19 people. The castle is undergoing extensive restoration; please observe the safety guidelines.
The tour lasts 1 hour, including 45 minutes inside the castle.
Pets are allowed on a lead and must be carried indoors.
No toilets.
